Město Pittsburgh, Pensylvánie kdysi měl řadu šikmé železnice. Většina z nich byla odstraněna; jen dva - Duquesne Incline a Monongahela Incline - jsou stále v provozu a přepravují cestující mezi Mount Washington a Řeka Monongahela.
