Železniční stanice Lowesby (původně Loseby) byla železniční stanice sloužící vesnicím Lowesby a Tilton na kopci, Leicestershire, na Velká severní železnice Pobočka Leicester.

Přehled

Stanice byla otevřena v roce 1882 (jako Loseby) a byla jednou ze dvou stanic obsluhujících Tilton, druhou byla stanice Tilton. Pro vesničany Tilton cestující do Leicesteru však byla upřednostňována stanice Lowesby, protože byla blíže veřejné stezce (1 míle proti 2, 2 míle), měla více vlaků a protože cesta vlakem byla o 2,5 míle kratší, a proto levnější. Odráží to několik příměstských vlaků z Leicesteru ukončených v Lowesby, i když byly staženy v roce 1916 společně s vlaky Leicester do Peterborough. Stanice byla přejmenována na Lowesby v roce 1916.

Stanice uzavřena pro pravidelný provoz v roce 1953, ačkoli letní výletní vlaky do Skegness a Mablethorpe pokračovala až do konce sezóny 1962.[1] Na východ od stanice byl Marefield Junction.
