Vysoký šerif z Oxfordshire - High Sheriff of Oxfordshire

The Vysoký šerife z Oxfordshire, stejně jako v jiných krajích, byl původně zástupcem krále v oblasti daní, který prosazoval zákon v saských dobách. Slovo šerif se vyvinulo z „hejtmana“.
