Poropuntius je rod cyprinid ryby vyskytující se hlavně ve sladkovodních stanovištích Jihovýchodní Asie a Yunnan v Čína, ale P. burtoni je z Jížní Asie.[1] Některé druhy mají velmi omezený rozsah a jsou vyhrožoval a jeden P. speleops je jeskynní ryby.[2]
