Gloria Amparo Galeano Garcés (22. dubna 1958-23. Března 2016)[1] byl Kolumbijec botanik a agronom specializující se na palmová rodina. Galeano byl členem fakulty na Kolumbijská národní univerzita, a byla ředitelkou Ústavu přírodních věd v letech 2003 až 2006. Získala ji Ph.D. z University of Aarhus, Dánsko v roce 1997.[2]

Galeano autorem taxonomické popisy 58 druhů, poddruhů a odrůd rostlin, zejména v palmová rodina.[3] Vydala 17 knih, 68 vědeckých prací a 15 kapitol knih, většinou o dlani a její taxonomii, systematičnost, ekologie, využití, tradiční znalosti, ekologie, dopady na ochranu a sklizeň kolumbijských rostlin a neotropických palem.[4] Je také spoluautorkou polního průvodce po dlaních Amerika.[5]

V roce 1996 získala cenu za vědu od Fundación Alejandro Angel Escobar pro Polní průvodce po amerických dlaních (spoluautorem Andrew Henderson & Rodrigo Bernal ).[6]

Druh palmy Geonoma galeanoae je pojmenován po ní.[7]
