The Diphyidae jsou rodina sifonofory. Tyto jsou koloniální sifonofory se dvěma nectofory (plavecké zvony) uspořádané jeden za druhým. Přední zahrnuje somatocystu (rozšíření gastrovaskulárního systému), zatímco zadní ne. Somatocysta často obsahuje kapičky oleje pro kontrolu vztlaku. Nectosac (centrální dutina se svalovými stěnami) v každém nectoforu umožňuje organismu účinně plavat.[1]
