Alestopetersius je rod characiny, ryby nalezené převážně v Povodí řeky Kongo v Střední Afrika s jedním druhem (A. smykalai) ze spodní části Řeka Niger v Nigérie. V tomto rodu je v současné době 10 popsaných druhů.
