William Slater (architekt) - William Slater (architect)
William Slater (1819-17. Prosince 1872) byl anglický architekt, který se narodil v roce Northamptonshire a cvičil v Londýně.[1] Dohlížel obnovení mnoha církví, naposledy ve spolupráci s R. H. Carpenter.
Kariéra
Přidal se Richard Cromwell Carpenter jako jeho první žák. Několik let žil s rodinou tesařů a stal se tesařským asistentem. Slater odešel založit samostatnou praxi s dalším tesařským žákem Williamem Smithem (později Bassett-Smithem).[Citace je zapotřebí ] Carpenter zemřel v roce 1855 ve věku 42 let a Slater byl přesvědčen, aby převzal jeho praxi.[2] V roce 1857 Tesařův syn Richard Herbert Carpenter připojil se k němu jako žák a stal se partnerem v roce 1863.[3]

Když R. C. Carpenter zemřel, nedokončil přestavbu farního kostela SS Simona a Judy, Hrabě Shilton, Leicestershire. Slater převzal práci a dokončil ji v roce 1856.[4]
V roce 1863 Slater a architekt Gillet řídili obnovu farního kostela sv. Petra a Pavla, Scaldwell, Northamptonshire.[5]
