Dr. William Bain je docentem na Singapurská národní univerzita, a předtím lektor na University of Wales, Aberystwyth v oddělení Mezinárodní politika. Navštěvoval University of South Carolina kde získal titul BA. Také se zúčastnil University of British Columbia v Vancouver kde získal titul MA a PhD. Před nástupem na UWA přednášel na University of Glasgow v teorie mezinárodních vztahů, mezinárodní etika, a politické myšlení osmnáctého století. Je také dobře známý svým studentům jako vášnivý fanoušek Vancouver Canucks hokejový tým a před zahájením přednášek pravidelně informuje o svých úspěších.
Zájmy výzkumu
Hlavními výzkumnými zájmy Williama Baina jsou teorie mezinárodních vztahů a normativní přístupy k světovým záležitostem. Napsal jednu knihu, Mezi anarchií a společností: poručenství a mocenské závazkya upravil / přispěl do jiného, Říše bezpečnosti a bezpečnosti lidu.
