Sybistroma je rod letí v rodině Dolichopodidae.[8] Zahrnuje více než 50 druhů, popsaných hlavně z Palearktické a orientální říše. Jediný druh je znám z Afrotropická oblast. Do roku 2005 se předpokládalo, že rod je omezen na Středomoří v distribuci s pěti známými druhy. Nedávno byla rozšířena o dřívější rody Hypophyllus, Ludovicius a Nordicornis, stejně jako některé druhy Hercostomus.[9]
