Stanley John Bailey (1901–1980) byl Rouse Ball profesor anglického práva v Univerzita v Cambridge od roku 1950 do roku 1968.[1] Byl autorem knihy Zákon vůle (Pitman's Equity Series: 1. vydání, 1935; 2. vydání, 1940; 3. vydání, 1948; 4. vydání, 1953; 5. vydání, 1957; 6. vydání, 1967; 7. vydání, 1973), „úvodní průzkum“[2][3][4] který byl „dobře známý“[5] a „extrémně čitelný“.[6] Byl redaktorem časopisu Cambridge Law Journal od roku 1948 do roku 1954. Psal články pro tento časopis a pro časopis Law Quarterly Review.[1]
