Marco Fontani[1] (narozen 5. května 1969 v Florencie ) je chemik a historik chemie, autor více než 120 publikací z chemie materiálů, organokovové chemie, elektrochemie a historie chemie. Je také členem představenstva[2] italské národní společnosti pro dějiny chemie (Gruppo Nazionale di Storia e Fondamenti della Chimica).[3]

Napsal knihy: The Lost Elements: The Periodic Table's Shadow Side[4] a Chemistry and Chemists in Florence: From the Last of the Medici Family to the European Magnetic Resonance Center.[5] Obě úpravy v italštině a angličtině.

Působí na Katedře organické chemie na VŠE University of Florence od roku 2003.
