Ceratothoaje rod isopod ektoparazity z teleost ryby,[1][2] poprvé popsal Dana v roce 1852. Infekce Ceratothoa může způsobit anémie, léze, zpomalení růstu, vyhublost a úmrtnost jejich rybích hostitelů.[2]
Ceratothoa je považován za starší synonymum obou Meinertia a Codonophilus.[3]
