Antrax je rod z bombyliid letí, běžně známé jako „včelí mouchy“ kvůli jejich podobnosti s včely. Většina z nich jsou matné černé mouchy a jsou obvykle malé až střední velikosti, 4–20 milimetrů (0,2–0,8 palce) a mnoho druhů má nápadné křídlové vzory.[1]
Antrax je velmi velký rod. Zatímco je celosvětově distribuován, většina druhů pochází z Palearktické a Afrotropní regionech. Rod zahrnuje druhy parazitický na tygří brouci - neobvyklý rys mezi včelami. A. antrax larvy parazitují na včelách. Mnoho severní Amerika druhy parazitují osamělé vosy.[2]
The druh druhu je Musca morio Linné, 1758, později shledána nesprávnou identifikací Musca antrax Schrank, 1781.[3]
Druh
Antrax mouchy se často vznášejí kolem lidí a přistávají na nich.[2] Tenhle, člen A. oidipus nebo podobný druh, opakovaně přistál na fotografových džínách.
